5 Ways to Celebrate the First Day of Summer
Summer is finally here, and it’s time to celebrate! The kids are out of school, vacations are around the corner, and you have three months worth of activities to figure out. The sun is out, and it’s time to relax and recharge before fall returns. Whether it’s getting outside and hitting the beach, reading a good book out on the lawn, or grabbing ice cream in the afternoon, there’s plenty of fun ways to celebrate the first day of summer and summer as a whole.
Have a Picnic
Whether it’s in your backyard, at the beach, or at a local park, having a picnic is a great way to kick off summer. Pack some fresh fruit, sandwiches, or whatever you would like and get outside to enjoy some fresh air.
Throw a Party
Nothing says summer quite like a party. It can be in your backyard or a bonfire at the beach, and there are always fun ways to keep the party going! Turn an ordinary plastic tarp into a giant slip n’ slide or have buckets of water balloons scattered around for a wet and wild time.
Have a Camp Out
Start your summer under the stars! Pitch a tent at a local camping site, state park, or even in your own backyard! Take part in all the traditional camping fun, like making s’mores, grilling hot dogs, and more!
You only have so many days during summer so make the most out of them. Create a list of some of your favorite activities you’d like to do, so when someone says, “I’m bored,” you can quickly come up with something fun to do!
Summer just isn’t the same without a good serving of the most delicious frozen treat: ice cream. Head to your local ice cream shop, grocery store, or even make your own recipe! You can’t go wrong with ice cream.
