Five Fun Halloween Treats that Aren’t Candy
Thursday - October 4th, 2018

Every year, the “season” of Halloween seems to stretch a little longer, with more and more opportunities for sugary snacking and treats. Neighborhoods, local malls, schools and area zoos plan parties and trick or treat events well before October 31. Families are often left wondering how to join the fun without sabotaging their good oral health practices.
If you’re looking for a break from all the candy this year, here are a few fun ideas for things to share at Halloween parties or trick-or-treat events.
-
- Take One, “Glow” One. Fill the treat basket with glow sticks, necklaces or bracelets. These glow-in-the-dark accessories are always a hit, and help kids be more visible on a dark night of trick-or-treat fun.
-
- Break out the Bubbly. Stock up on party-sized bubbles for guests and trick-or-treaters. Kids can’t resist a little bubble fun.
-
- Stickers! Stickers! Stickers! Add spooky stickers to a goody bag for little ones to share and swap.
-
- Tattoos for Today. Halloween-themed temporary tattoos are safe and easy to remove.
- Bouncy (eye)Balls. Check your local party store for Halloween-themed bouncy balls. A treat bowl full of bouncy, bloodshot eyeballs significantly boosts the creepiness factor of any home.
Happy Halloween!
