Together with the Smiles for Everyone Foundation, We Celebrate a Season of Giving All Year Long
Good oral health is important 24/7 and 365 days a year. Unfortunately, there are people living in the U.S. and around the world who – for one reason or another – aren’t getting the dental care they need. At Bright Now! Dental, the season of giving lasts all year due to our important work with the Smiles for Everyone Foundation. Our teams have the opportunity to volunteer their time and skills to provide free dental services for individuals in the communities we serve through our affiliated offices and in six other countries around the globe.
International Smile Projects, a series of Community Smile Projects and frequent Smile Makeovers – this is the work that happens month after month to ensure that “Smiles for Everyone” truly means everyone.
Since 2011, our teams have helped deliver thousands of smiles around the world and millions in donated dentistry. And every year those numbers continue to grow!
You can read some of the inspiring Smile Stories, like our recent free dental day in Chandler, Arizona. The Chandler team opened their doors to serve underinsured individuals from the surrounding communities. The Smiles for Everyone Foundation connected them with local non-profits in order to pre-screen and refer patients to the dental clinic. One of these organizations was the Phoenix Rescue Mission, a long-term recovery program that provides housing and support services to individuals overcoming addiction. 20 patients from the program were able to receive dental care that day. In addition, Leanne Meier, one of Bright Now! Dental’s caring office managers, connected with the local VA ahead of this free dental day. Leanne is aware that dental care is hard for veterans to obtain, since benefits are only provided to those who are considered 100% disabled. Over 20 veterans and their families received services that day.
At Bright Now! Dental, we’re fortunate to work for a company that creates opportunities for us to give back all year long. But in this season of giving, people often ask if there’s a way they can get involved. If you’d like to support our work, we welcome donations from individuals or corporate partners online.
However, some people like to take a more hands on approach to their seasonal giving. If that’s more your style, we’ve put together ideas for you to create a “Care for Your Smile” hygiene kit that provides a few oral health basics for a person experiencing homelessness in your community. It’s always a good idea to check with your local shelter to find out if there are specific needs, but here are some supplies that are typically always welcome.
- Water bottle
- Lip balm
- A fresh pair of socks
- Toothbrush and tooth brush cover, dental floss and tooth paste
- Comb
- Travel-sized body wash and shampoo
- Deodorant
Providing people with a care package of the basic needs for their personal hygiene and oral healthcare is one way to make a big impact on their day.
