Right now, dental has been a good experience for the most part. They have readily available appointments and are pretty efficient at getting you in on time. On my first visit, they brought me in, performed x-rays, got me scheduled for follow ups. They seem to run into a problem with scheduling and insurance issues, but they kind of cleared that up as quickly as possible. They brought me in for a left side, deep clean and then for fillings. During my visit for fillings, they decided to extract a few teeth that needed extracting. I thought that this needed to wait for approval, but they said no. This is where my largest problem occurred. I am a larger gentleman, and I have red hair. If you’re curious about this, do any Google search and you’ll find that red haired people Take more Novacaine to numb. This is a scientific fact. Also due to my size I guess I take even more. It took so many shots to numb my mouth sufficiently so that I did not feel the drills during my fillings and then additional shots so I did not feel the extractions that I probably would’ve put down an elephant. Now this is not their fault, not even remotely. My dentist and all of the assistance were very, very friendly, they are very personable, but they had a lot of problems extracting my teeth. I guess my jaw is very strong and while the top of the tooth was rotted away, the roots were in there pretty solidly. It took a very long time to extract three teeth and the discomfort I felt during, and after really can’t be measured. I don’t know that there’s anybody to blame for this. It’s just the honest opinion. I don’t know that any other dentist would’ve had any easier time getting these teeth out. Once they were out, she was very friendly and courteous, though she immediately launched into trying to convince me to get either partials or implants at which one I had to explain that my insurance would not cover them, and I certainly could not afford them. At this point, I felt like I was disregarded and left to the assistant. Nobody gave me any aftercare instructions or any gauze beyond the one piece that was put in my mouth. I still say overall it was a good experience, they are a good company and they do have an availability that makes them worth going to. They work with most if not all insurances and that’s something that most places can’t say.
