Thank you for providing my new upper partial denture. I would like to report several issues that I have experienced while using it so the appliance can be properly adjusted for comfort, speech, and chewing function.
1. Sharp Edge on the Last Molar Tooth
The last molar tooth on the left side appears to have a slightly sharp or protruding edge. Every time I bite or chew, the inside of my cheek gets caught or bitten repeatedly. This has already caused soreness, bleeding, swelling, and painful mouth irritation. Because of this discomfort, I temporarily stopped wearing the partial denture.
2. Gap Between Denture Surface and Gum/Palate Area
There is also a noticeable small gap in the middle upper palate area of the denture (approximately 1/16 inch). The denture does not fully rest or make proper contact against the surface of my gum/palate tissue.
Because of this gap:
• Air seems to escape while speaking
• The denture feels like it is slightly floating in the middle area
• I am having difficulty pronouncing certain words, especially words containing the letter “R”
• Speech feels unnatural and uncomfortable
I would greatly appreciate it if the denture could be examined carefully and adjusted to:
• Smooth or reduce the sharp tooth edge
• Improve the palate fit and surface contact
• Eliminate the gap so the denture sits more naturally and comfortably
Thank you very much for your help and understanding. I appreciate your efforts in making the denture fit properly for speaking, chewing, and overall comfort.
Sincerely,
Rudy G. Dela Vega
